Inspired by The Beatles' 'Happiness (Is a Warm Gun)' and Radiohead's 'Paranoid Android', Infinite Range is a reaction against traditional character driven animation. Noticing the songs switch in rythym and union of different melodies, Erik wanted to capture the visual essence of unexpected change. Built on the Illusion of space, Infinite Range is an experimentation of movement and form. A bright warm orange background flattens perspective while a thin white line delicately builds it back. Simple graphical treatments deconstruct within the complex rhythm of the soundtrack without anthropomorphizing movement or form.
