    So she spanked her daughter. Since when does a parent get reprimanded, disciplined for correcting her daughter.

    Obviously the parent needs corrected for inappropriate forms of 'correction'. While much of the country allows some extent of violence against children, there is no right to spank your children, and its important to remind people of this from time to time. The public is growing increasingly intolerant of spanking, it is a violation of the rights and dignity of the children, and it would declared illegal in the not too distant future, and there are no legitimate complaints about this. If you aren't ok with someone smacking or spanking their wives or servants non-consensually, then short of some form of ignorance you cannot support hitting children.
