Without You by Cutting Edge is a love ballad written by Liza Pesnell for her husband, David Pesnell. Both are founding members of the band, Cutting Edge.
"Without You" has charted twice in the United States at commercial radio stations. The song was released by the band's record label (Thunder Quest Records) in January 1999 and over the next three months, the song chart on commercial radio charts in the U.S. reaching #24 on the R&R radio charts and #20 on the Gavin radio charts. A little over two years later, a syndicated college radio program began to play "Without You" and within 3 weeks, over 120 college radio stations jumped on the single by Cutting Edge. Thunder Quest Records quickly re-issued the single to commercial radio stations in the U.S. and the song moved up the charts, topping at #16. The best part, over 150 syndicated radio stations around the world were also on the song, making it a major hit for the band. Research by R&R at the time stated they could find no other song by an indie artist to have charted twice with the same song. Cutting Edge is in a league of their own.
Thunder Quest Records is releasing a new live album by Cutting Edge to college radio stations this fall and the album is called "Cutting Edge Released....Alive" and this live version of "Without You" is from the live album.
