Good point. Sometimes they can be happy, and sometimes sad. I just wish there was a better word for it then nostalgy. It just makes you think I guess. Something about the minor7add9 chords that make you feel so human I guess. Well, that's why I like Coldplay.

Hey Junije1 I so agree w u... I also feel sad after listening 2 them... and it's not even just the words, its the melody, the way the instruments are played... they have kind of a nostalgy aura around them...i don't know what it is....

they have songs with good messages though....

Sorry but DMB is more of a folk rock in its large variety of instruments used and talent provided. Coldplay is an acoustic soft rock. Plus Chris Martin has an extremely falsetto voice. Dave has a much deeper one

how are coldplay generic? name me one other band that sounds even remotely like them. I agree that a lot of stuff out there is generic and meaningless, but I don't see how coldplay could be categorized "generically".
