  • Windows Media ...

Windows Media Player will not rip mp3 from cd (at least i couldnt get it to). Insert disc go to my computer right click on your disc drive select open then you should see all the mp3 songs on the cd. Left click then highlight all songs you wish then right click on the highlighted section and select copy. Then by right clicking and selecting paste you can put them in a folder on your desk top or even in the program you use such as itunes to transfer mp3's to your mp3 player.

  • When you "rip" ...

When you "rip" songs from a CD, the original songs stay on the CD (in CDA format). The newly ripped or "transferred" songs are now located on your computer in MP3 format, for example. You can copy, move, delete the MP3 files from your computer (to anywhere) any time you like. When you need to replace them, 'cause you deleted them let's say, simply "rip" the songs again from the original CD to your computer in MP3 format. And, voila!
