Snakes usually have hamsters for lunch. But when rat snake Ao-chan and dwarf hamster Gohan-chan met at a Japanese zoo, it was love - and not at first bite. Now, the 120-centimetre snake and gray hamster are room mates, living together in a heated glass box.
Gohan-chan, whose name means "meal" in Japanese, was literally, meant to be the snake's dinner. "When we first found Ao-chan, the snake refused to eat so we went to a pet shop but was told they were out of frozen mice and suggested we try a hamster. However the moment we put it in the cage, it was instantaneous friendship and the snake seemed to have no appetite for it," said zoo keeper Kazuya Yamamoto.
But the love is obviously is shared only by the snake and the hamster. Hanna-chan, a mouse-hunting cat, has been eyeing Gohan-chan ever since Ao-chan decided to befriend it.

aah so cute :)
i even tough the snake really gonna eat him.
Oreztar I did not put this up so don't blame me and remember snakes eat small animals including hamsters, mice, rats, or whatever else they can get. There not vegetarian/ protein intolerant. What do you want to do kill all reptiles because they eat these little fur balls. In some countrys people eat cats and dogs and in India the cow is held as a holy object while in America we eat the cow which was really good yesterday. Cats and dogs will eat these fur balls if given a chance as well...
By think4peace [Affiliate User] 1212924576 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveMy snake has gone over 4 months with out eating. To all PETA/VIRGINS, snakes eat little rodents so get use to it. If it makes you feel better I buy my mice prekilled at the pet store that way I can keep them frozen until needed. They kill them by smacking them real hard against the counter. Most pet shops do this and feed their snakes this way so the snake is not scratched up by a mouse or rat. It's hard to sell snakes with bite marks and scraches. This is how things are done so get use to it!!!

By Oreztar [Affiliate User] 1212921945 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removewow, you're cool. It must take a special kind of manliness to feed a trusting domesticated pet alive to a F**king snake, then brag about it. Bravo.

By jetttomaing [Affiliate User] 1212883297 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removedo hamsters normally panic or get scared in this situation?
By AceAyu [Affiliate User] 1212871970 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveThe snake might have not wanted to eat the hamster because it was full. I heard someone say that snakes can go for months with out eating. Maybe my statics are wrong, but I have to admit this is a video worth watching!!

By AKPUP2020 [Affiliate User] 1212856051 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveIt's probably not eating the hamster because it's already being given food. Besides, the hamster is probably the only thing it has in that boring glass tank.

By advunter [Affiliate User] 1212776307 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveSnakes can eat creatures many times their size. I know cause my dad had several snakes as pets. That snake can easily take that hamster, but it just isn't for whatever reason.
It reminds me of the story of the lion who wouldn't kill the baby wildebeest.
It's probably because the hamster is too big for the snake.
By SacksOfMusturd [Affiliate User] 1212753585 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removetake the hamster away from the F**king snake the hamster will clearly kill it.
