Hi, i am very interested at buying a new DSLR, i was wondering if there might be firmware updates on canon cameras? HD video shooting is a HUGE feature to me (so i dont buy a camcorder).
since the 50D has the same processor as the 5D markII, is it technically possible to upgrade the firmware so it can shoot videos too? i don't really want to spend 1000$ more for the 5D markII but i would since 1000$ is the actual cost of (average) HD camcorders.
Hi! thanks for the swift reply. Yes i did have a look at the website. :) thanks! i only have ONE EF-S lens. Apparently, m just tempted to change to either the 5D mark II / 50D. But where would my 30D be used in service? im just a hobbyist. i think i'm just contradicting myself.hahaha thanks btw :D
By hilmi2ilmih [Affiliate User] 1225552681 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveHi, you'll certainly get a lot of new features if you jump from the 30D to the 50D, and there's unlikely to be a successor for at least another year - although if you have EF lenses, you may also consider the 5D Mark II. That said, the 40D is also worth considering. See the verdict pages of our 40D and 50D reviews at cameralabs . com to see comparisons with both older models and feel free to discuss this further in the Canon section of the cameralabs forums...
By cameralabs [Affiliate User] 1225503549 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveIm currently using a 30D. Geared with a few lenses. Im really tempted to get the 50D. Do u reckon it's a good upgrade? i understand the whole 'big step' from 30D to 50D, but should i wait for a next replacement?
By hilmi2ilmih [Affiliate User] 1225502643 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveI'm surprised Canon have included the 'CA' mode in this camera. Anyone who is going to pay for a pretty serious camera like this will use the AV mode (and should already be familiar with how Aperture Priority works). I personally think it is pointless!.
By Yellowbananaboat [Affiliate User] 1225188295 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveNope I saw that guy in the forums. I'm Shagrath in the forums though. :D I love your site, best photography community I've seen so far.

By TheStig000 [Affiliate User] 1224807684 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveActually I fine the audio in the room to be very crisp, and clear to my ear. Yours are the best reviews on youtube as far as I'm concerned.
By timhavens [Affiliate User] 1224681625 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveYeah, unless you get a sound studio it will be hard to fix. I really don't notice it though. It sounds fine to me! Great video btw, very interesting camera.
By TheStig000 [Affiliate User] 1224662302 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveThanks, I've tried different microphones, but it's the room that's the problem...

By jokuvaan321 [Affiliate User] 1224540325 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveDo you know what the fastest card reader for SDHC is? I have the one that comes with the SanDisk Extreme III cards, and it's the fastest I have so far.
By SpeedFreakNO [Affiliate User] 1224478983 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveGet equal cards and good card reader. Thats all.
45MBps is fastest transfer up to date by Extreme IV layout.
extreme III SDHC does 30MBps
Yes, OMG OMG...
They why can oen copy data from CF cards much faster to the PC/Mach than from SD cards? From my SanDisk Extreme III 2/4GB cards, I only below 20MBps, and it's not the harddrive that is the limiting factor, nor the USB2 interface, cause I can copy from an external HDD connected via USB2 to an internal HDD connected via SATA a lot faster than that.
