  • "She gave spiritual ...

"She gave spiritual birth to a race of ugly, loud, & stinking swine" Really? Please, enlighten us moreso than the bullfrog analogy because I really am NOT getting it. I generally don't buy into hippie culture en masse, suffice it to say however, I appreciate beauty, talent & intensity so please, elaborate upon your "rationale".

janis was so cute when she didn't get crazy! When rock was music, without lights, smoke, or crystals!

  • I am pretty sure ...

I am pretty sure this was recorded at Channel 9 studios in SF for the series that rock writer Ralph Gleason did of local groups. My sisters and I lived for these night on KQED. I was 16 years old and seeing these groups live. Quicksilver was far better musically than BB&THC; Country Joe and the Fish were fun too. Moby Grape was incredible live, really great.

  • You could not be ...

You could not be more vile and stupid; you have no involved knowledge of blues and rock. The contempt you have is for yourself and your frustration for not having the creative powers to create anything that anyone will care about 40 years after youve died. Describe great rock music and great rock performers,go ahead...
The truly wicked dream is known as your life, isnt it?

  • rabunch, she gave ...

rabunch, she gave birth to a generation of stinking swine? You certainly do give Joplin a lot of power, don't you? She was just a singer. That' it. That's all she claimed to be. You don't have to like her as much as everyone else. In the meantime, I think that you need to move on to other issues and do something better with your life.

  • If you hate it so ...

If you hate it so much why are you here listening? You can't answer that, can you?! And if you can badmouth the dead then you most certainly can hate them. You have anerve talking about compassion and tolerance, and frankly I can't tolerate any more of your bullcrap so buzz off.

  • But it was not a ...

But it was not a dream. One evening she returned to the swamp where she had released the smelly eggs, & there was a little beige bullfrog. "Mother!" he said, "you have come to visit your children! Sing to us with the voice that reminds us of our father so that we may grow strong." Every 7th night Janis returned, & sang to the swamp. All her children responded in kind. But when Autumn came the sound was no more. Janis was angry & sad, thinking again she'd been deceived by a wicked dream.
