One of my favorite songs from the Brave Little Toaster.

I can't take this kinda pressure
I must confess one more dusty road
Would be just a road too long

Worthless...

I just can't, I just can't
I just can't seem to get started!
Don't have the heart to live in the fast lane
All that has passed and gone

Worthless!
And there ain't nothing you can do about it
Worthless!
Pardon me while I panic!
Worthless! Worthless! Worthless!

I come from KC Missouri
And I got my kicks out of Route 66
Every truck stop from Butte to MO
Motown to Old Alabama
From Texarkana and east of Savanna from Tampa to Old Kokomo

Worthless...

I once ran the Indy 500
I must confess I'm impressed how I did
And I wonder how close that I came
Now I get a sinking sensation
I was the top of the line, out of sight out of mind
So much for fortune and fame

Once took a Texan to a wedding
Once took a Texan to a wedding
He kept forgetting, his loneliness letting
His thoughts turn to home and we turned

I took a man to a graveyard
I beg your pardon, it's quite hard enough
Just living with the stuff I have learned

Worthless...

Once drove a surfer to sunset
There were bikinis and buns there were weenies
Fellini, just couldn't forget

Pico, lets go up to Zuma
Pico, lets go up to Zuma
From Zuma to Yuma the rumor was I had a hand in the lay of the land
Get up and go hit the highway

I worked on a reservation
Who would believe they would love me and leave on a bus back to old Santa Fe?

Once in an Indian nation
I took the kids on the skids with a hope
He was happy until I heard him say
"You're worthless"

  • Best scenes in ...

Best scenes in children's movies are always the ones that you sort of write off as a kid, then look back on later in life and finally realize just how well the scene relates to you. That's why I prefer movies like this to some of the newer ones. There was a lot of deep thought put forth into making a motion picture. People don't care about their own characters anymore. You can't put life into something that you refuse to respect as an equal.

I agree with you, except on one point......we HAVE mentioned it at some point on this scene's potential metaphor......you are just one of the first to put it down...er, correctly?

  • The thing that ...

The thing that makes this scene so great, that nobody mentioned (xept one) is its metaphor potential. Thats what makes it so sad and powerful. This song is not just about cars. I spent a breif period homeless and living in a shelter. This makes a suitable and powerful metaphor. The same can be said for "washed up" celebrities, SOME old people, general "losers", dogs and cats on death row in the pound etc. The mean-looking magnet, the rythmic banging and crashing symbolize the cruelty of life.

I'm pretty sure this song (and this movie in general) is the reason why I feel horrible getting rid of my old junky car.

  • You know, I'll ...

You know, I'll admit that I liked a lot of Disney's computer generated stuff. Loved Finding Nemo, even thought Chicken Little was great. I just wish Disney would mix it up a little bit instead of relying on Pixar and Pirates to sell their movies for them. Love Pixar and love Pirates, but come on, would it kill them to make a few more animated features that aren't bad sequals?

I found another error regarding the beach car. Note how at about 4:28, she doesn't have any tires at all. But while getting picked up by the magnet and while on the coveyor belt, especially noticeable starting at 4:44, she suddenly has rear tires. I wonder if the layout artist was sleeping on the job.

  • I am glad I am not ...

I am glad I am not the only person who feels this way with all those computerized animation movies out there. But I think they make it computerized because they are easier to make then doing hand animation. I just think really though its fine if they make computerized animation movies, but also release the old fashioned animations movies too. Sad to see that the only 2D cartoon animations you see now is on T.V. and mostly Anime now (although I do like some Anime).

Y'know I'll tell you a secret: Believe it or not, I had a crush on that red car when I was younger! And I didn't know why. xD Now I'm older and now the after-effect is still having a slight attraction toward him! xP

I like the way that red car sings =P.

And I agree with the poeple who say the stuff Disney Releases now isn't good. I enjoyed the cartoon movies when I was a kid. Not all of this computerized animation stuff (with the exception of Toy Story). I wish they would make more animated movies like this. And I think they should bring back the Road Runner and Bugs Bunny, and Looney Toons even.

  • Hah, hah! Yeah, ...

Hah, hah! Yeah, exactly! Kid's need to be scared. I don't see anything wrong showing kids "good violence", such as in BLT or Looney Tunes (of course, movies with gratuitous blood and gore is bad for anyone of any age). Well, whenever I have kids, I'm going to have them watch the cartoons that I watched when I was a kid. You're right, a lot of animation today is pure junk.
