How to Make a Scented Waxed Bear.Check Description-instructions-

Two old pots ,or ( crock pot /rice cooker) one for water and one to melt wax.

Candy thermometer-Your local stores would carry these.

Plenty of newspaper
A pair of tongs
A fork you will never eat with again:)
Some type of screen or cooling rack
Heavy duty gloves, so you don't burn your hands
Soy wax about a pound.. and scent -craft store (Michaels, im lucky cuz my daughter works at the store:) or my only supplier I ever use (scents)(http://www.mcsoywax.com/wax.htm) The scents at this company is out of this world, i have tried others and no one can compare.


Here is the basic set up for melting wax. These are two old pots, try to find big pots if you can, and make sure the pot you will use to melt wax is smaller than the one for the water.


Im using here one pound of soy wax. This is put into pot after the water below is in full boil ..


Fully melted wax: Heat to 180 degrees


Turn off heat, remove from that burner and wait for wax to cool down to 110 degrees


Stir in fragrance at (110 degrees) two table spoons /or 2oz.

Set pots up like the above picture, by placing your mesh wire or cooling rack on the water pot.


Place bear in pot and coat all sides of bear like this:


After you have coated all sides of the bear.. take the bear out and start to squeeze the bear to get access wax out.


The wax will settle in the bottom of the bear.. you want squeeze this area many times, make sure that there is no heavy stream of wax coming form this area before you start to pick fur.


Set bear on other pot with wire underneath ( you can add a flat box to help hold up the bear better) Now you must start picking at the fur right away.. make sure you pick at fur to make it stand up.


After you have picked all his fur.. set the bear against something like a box to dry. This should dry for at least 8 hours or overnight before you began to add anything on the bear.
