How to Download Videos off YouTube (Mac)

This is a quick video on how to Download Videos off YouTube without the need of extra applications or programs or other web site other than YouTube itself. With the use of Safari.

You can likely do this on Windows and Safari but I haven't tried yet.

**If you are using Mac you can download 'Perian' - http://perian.org/ this lets you watch FLV videos and heaps of other file formants.

Note for YouTube:
If you are watching a standard video it will be get_video, if you are watching a high quality video it will be videoplayback (either should be the largest file in the list of activities)

If the video doesn't download, instead loads up as a code, just save the page as 'page source' and rename it in Finder (through Get Info)

Video Info:
Standard Quality - About 3.1MB
High Quality - About 6.3MB

    excuse me i dont know how to change it so i can watch it with quicktime
    cause when i add .flv onto it, it doesnt change
    i think theres a way that when u add .blah on the end you can change the file, i dont know how to do it though

    but recently i've tried to download a video and on activities theres the video link but no 'status' saying how big it is

    After clicking this it just comes up with a blank safari page

    Please help!

    if double clicking the .flv file doesn't work try right clicking on it and go to 'get info' and scroll down to open with and try to change it to QuickTime (if you cant click on qt then go other and try there, then click on the tab 'enable' and change to all applications then click on qt) and you may also want to click on the change all button so all .flv files open in qt
