  • no. he is right ...

no. he is right actually... the greeks were openly homosexual, even Alexander the Great took on many boy lovers and even a child hood friend Hephaistion, who was regarded as the love of his life.
As for the rest of Greece, homosexuality was the only way. In fact the Corinthian Sacred Band of elite warriors was comprised entirely of Homosexual lovers, used to form an unbreakable bond of soldiers. Again, how the hell can your sexual orientation make you incapable of being a warrior?

    Sorry but you are wrong.
Spartans like the rest of Greece, abolished any form of homosexuality especially in Public and the ones caught for this act where sentenced in death punishment the same as the blasphmers.
    Fall from Keadas cliff.

That is one of the dumbest things I have ever seen written. I have a BS in education History, minors in Physics and Chemistry. What in the world does a persons sexual preference have to do with forming a military force. You know nothing of Greek, Romans, Spartans open sexual expression. Spartans from age 7 they were forbiden to see women the military owned them, after service they had to be force w/ fear of banishment to marry for reproduction.google gay spartans. -out of room I can give sites

  • It was closer to ...

It was closer to 7000 greeks backed Spartans during the battle. I think the supporting Greeks abandons their position b/c of rumors of their home being attack. Abandoning the rear area passes, lead to the Spartans defeated. The Spartans were the super-solders of their day, due to training, armor & armorment. They were training all the time, & homosexuality was a way of life(wives were for reproduction only)gay relations strengthed their bonds during battle. I never saw 300 so I cant rate it

  • The persians were ...

The persians were not as "monstrous" as our history portrays them, It seemed to me that Xerxes was more Iron fisted then his predecessors who were famous for their leniency and benevolence. Persians held to rules of war,Its seems that such principals fell to wayside during the later years of the Persian empire.

  • 700 Thebans, I ...

700 Thebans, I believe. And if I am not mistaken their Helot slaves were also killed in battle, if not in battle, they were likely massacred by the Persians. And I do totally agree, 300 was total bullshite.

  • The Persian general ...

The Persian general is stupid! If I was him, I would perform a night attack instead rather than moving my cav back to the ship. Infantry on frontal attack and send cav on both side of the flank and kill off the men. But then again, they might not know unlike us when we have a "simulator" =P go Greeks.
