Billfish are mostly released due to their lower reproductive success. Their food value is low by most standards, except in a few cultures. Billfish are wonderful sportfish and are more valuable released to be caught again to reproduce and get bigger.

i love fishing on the outerbanks.. my best is a 22 pound wahoo and some tuna. havent tryed for marlin yet.

Why you spear some of them fish and bring em on board but throw back the Marlin? can you not keep em?

Circle hooks buddy 99.9 percent in the corner of the mouth and once in cant be thrown out unlike a 'j' hook the will hook in the gills and can be trown even if given a little slack

actually no real damage to the gaff just a little character added, since it has gaffed a "few" fish, haha. Boat was fine looking good and running great, so obviously no damage. You just wrry about catching fish yourself and I will keep catching the bud
