Ballistic Missile Submarine

Well if the torpedo hits the typhoon in the screws, it dosent matter. Also a torpedo hit anywhere else wont destroy it, but it sure can damage it enough that any half decent sonar can hear it. So its just postponing the inevitable kill shot.

All this about the Ohio and Germans, the real big boomers, Typhoon, will always be the kings in my mind. Can your Ohio class stand unfazzed by a direct torpedo hit?

The Germans have an ever more silent submarine than the Ohio class :) and Antimagnetic shell as well....so Ocean Mines wont stick onto the shell but bounce them away when the submarine gets close.... as well its capable of transporting Special Troops and Nukeclear weapons if nessesary

How can anyone say the the vangard is the best ssbn out there?
I serverd aboard an Ohio class submarine this is the quietest nuclear powered submarine that has ever been produced. I reminde everyone that the ohio class has never been tracked in the open ocean in the history of the class (that means since 1980 to the present no one including us forces has been able to find it) I have deen in numerous exersises to proove it.

umm i would imagine they wouldn't waste the energy on filming it doing something so bland as just coming up for air - showing off missile hatches and firepower seems more likely in my opinion hehe :)

at 5:03 was it coming up for air or opening up the missle bay?
