By SNovotny86 [Affiliate User] 1212500005 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveThat's only in case they actually notice it, though (they being the crew)...
By SNovotny86 [Affiliate User] 1212499810 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveThat's "QANTAS" - no "U". It's an acronym for "Queensland (and) Northern Territory Air Service" - Australia's main domestic & international carrier.

It would disrupt the main board, but because people think ahead, the on-board computers are just that... computers, not computer. There's usually backup ones, just like generators, and although the electricity would cut out for like a millisecond, most people would assume it was normal. As for the plane shaking... even if it did (which it might, but nothing major), I bet everyone on board would assume it was turbulence.

By user435 [Affiliate User] 1212286672 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveWell, no, not really. Not unless someone is holding onto a metal pole that is attached to the outside frame from top to bottom. Mostly they don't even hear it, nor see it, unless they're looking outside... even if they were, it would look like a flash of lightning in the distance. Hardly anyone knows when it happens... unless you're on the ground, videotaping, of course!!! The most that happens (except in some uncommon cases) is the lights dim or flicker momentarily.

By kevman5 [Affiliate User] 1212206108 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removewell do the people inside the plane feel anything??
By user435 [Affiliate User] 1212193627 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveIt wasn't grounded. It's just a piece of metal, floating in mid-air, so the lightning would cause minimal minimal damage to anything on the plane. Maybe a couple of burn marks on the outside, but that's it. If the plane had been on the ground, and its tires blown or something, the lightning would have blown the plane apart, probably.

if you slow down the vid, 0:08 looks crazy
By DoAsniper [Affiliate User] 1212139041 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removethere have been something like only 6 people dying from being struck by lightning while in a plane. Most people say that when a plane is struck by lightning, the cabin lights up white for a split second. I don't think you'd physically feel anything though.
By hadabadeh [Affiliate User] 1212130202 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removewait why didnt anything happen to the plane??
By user435 [Affiliate User] 1212052201 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveWould you feel anything if the plane was hit and you were in it?

By Hesusio [Affiliate User] 1211494562 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveThat's ALOT of voltage. It takes 3000000 Volts to travel 1 meter, that was kilometers! Also, very wide lightning strike.
By djdjerojr [Affiliate User] 1211455323 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveIts orite m8 i gets what you sayin Airbus A330 is the plane and quantas is the airlin 2 totaly different things regardless to weather the airline or what ever builds the plane.
By Vanadeo [Affiliate User] 1211450227 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveIt's a wee bit difficult to pick out irony if you're just reading text. Besides there's so many stupid people on youtube it's not all that unlikely for someone to say that. I've read far stupider.
By Hesusio [Affiliate User] 1211230846 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removeaw man! very cool! Its not every day you catch something like that on camera, or even get to see it! And the sparks from the plane were a nice touch =). Just for FYI, a plane being hit by lightning is no big deal. Planes are just like cars. They are built to carry the bolt on the outer framing and down to the ground, and the plane keeps going, posing no major threat. All the generators are built on the inside of the plane,so nothing breaks, although you may find a nice dent at the strike area.
