1) The type-R is a luxury sports coupe, NOT a track race car.
2) "Track tested by pilots"? Pilots fly airplanes. Did you mean "track tested by engineers"? Amazing... So's your mother's minivan.
3) Notice how 90% of supercars are MR? FF layouts exist because it's cheaper to produce the engine and tranny in such a configuration, and the majority of the populace doesn't require the benefits associated with any other layout. MR = track car. FR = track car. FF = grocery getter.

1) Show me a Civic that can go 250MPH...
2) Show me a person who survived a 250MPH crash. Go on, I dare ya.
3) The only civic "Race Cars" I've ever seen are tube-chassis CRX's. And those are only fast in a straight line. Hardly a fitting race car.
