What a glorious voice. Why did he have to die so young? I've never heard this aria sung better or with more poignancy.

who are you??? damn, talk about hitting the nail on top of the head!! audiences are much to blame for this putridness that is happening in the opera world. they have seveerley crippled this artform by allowing these overpaid dumbasses that have no idea about the tradition to run these awful companies (santa fe, st. louis, all of the young artist programs etc...) where YOUNG singers are going to grow. yeeah right, its S**t i've done these programs and its so sad. vocal training is a joke!

The dozen or so people in charge of casting- they seem utterly ignorant of the recorded legacy. The current consequence is that the singer turnover is very high, performances are very often either bad or merely forgettable and several operas may soon drop out of the repertoire. Thank God for the CD and for Youtube. Some of the audiences are as much to blame who will shout Bravo! even for a little vocal fart. Most current vocal training is a disaster too.

NONE, NONE!!! unfortunately, this artform has been taken out of the hands of people who really know the artform and not ones who just want someone who THEY percieve as pretty and movie camera ready. its putrid. 400 years of tradition for a bunch of idiots to finally screw it all up!!! happy trails!!

no flames to throw at you but THIS voice is very very beautiful but very different than Pav's! fritz couldnt touch early pav by any means but i do feel you when you say you love this voice. he had such a great future ahead of him. hey fritz, watch your step!!! peace!!!
