Yes, I often wonder what Blake would think and how his unique perspective would be received in this age.

  • Powerful film. And ...

Powerful film. And I didn't realise Blake had a brother. I remember reading that he thought poets weremystic visionaries as he probably thought this according to his own visions with religious experiences.

  • If you know or read ...

If you know or read much about the history of Mahler's third, you'll find the piece itself and Mahler's obsession with it is not too dissimilar to those views held by Blake. I think the piece took up a life of its own and compelled Mahler to complete it. For some reason I always think of Herman Melville's quotes about his novel, Moby Dick--
"...a polar wind blows through it and birds of prey hover over it." Almost as if it were a force of its own to be reckoned with!

The Promise given Job...Was it Jesus? "Heaven and Hell" book by E. Swedenborg. Chapt.1, (1)THE LORD IS HEAVEN'S GOD (2) We need first to know who the God of heaven is, since the rest depends on this. Throughout the whole of heaven, no one is recognized as God except the Lord.
