Keep in mind in Kimbers there's the firing pin safety block so there's an extra piece there unlike the milspec. The procedure is still the same just line up the firing pin safety block pin, disconnector and sear. I'll keep you in mind once I get done making a video for Kimbers.
By JeepWarthog [Affiliate User] 1210835570 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveGreat video. I only knew how to field strip mine. I was worried about the ILS MSH giving me crap. I am working on tricking out my SS Springer GI. So far I have done a C&S trigger kit, Caspian Trik trigger, Barrel bushing, Wilson beavertail& tungsten guide rod. I am going to have my smith go over and tighten it up, and get a beveled MSH. I am looking into new sights, and barrel. Be careful with the grips. They are easy to bugger up. Only use a gunsmith's screwdriver on them.

If you search korn1536 or under my other videos you can find them (there are 2 parts). Maybe they can at least give you a starting point if you are new to them. Thanks

By racaraca15 [Affiliate User] 1210452515 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveOk. Yeah, if there's no pin, then it must be a non-pinned ejector. I would extremely highly recommend getting a pin put in. It's a very simple procedure (but it can be messed up) where they simply drill a precicely placed hole and drive a pin in so that it engages a groove in the front post. I can't see it costing more than $25-35 by an experienced gunsmith, which would be worth it to me if it were my gun. The last thing you want is a failure to extract because of a broken or loose ejector post.
By korn1536 [Affiliate User] 1209136102 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveThanks for the ejector info. This is an older Auto-Ordnance frame (I know, I know) that I was going to build around. Anyway, although there are two very tiny holes on either side of BOTH rails, there is no pin. One of the holes is buggered up.
By ONKlub [Affiliate User] 1209118718 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveAll 3 videos, very nicely done. I recently purchased a Kimber Custom target II, my first 1911 style handgun. I have several revolvers and a Glock 19, so your video was extremely informative, Thanks very much
By goldsmith1955 [Affiliate User] 1208968460 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveSorry this is so lengthy ONKlub. Anyhow the only other thing I can think of is if its a non-pinned ejector. If this is the case, then it is glued in there. Short term temporary fix (not recommended)would be to pry it out and locktite. Best fix would be to pay a gunsmith (apprx. $25-45) to drill and pin the ejector OR tell Springfield you want your non-pinned ejector pinned because it came loose. They should pay for the shipping and the parts/labor at no cost to you. Make sure to ask if its free.
By korn1536 [Affiliate User] 1208964972 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveGently tap it back down in all the way and re-insert the pin. You must make sure the pin is inserted all the way so that it is flush with both sides of the rail. You have to be careful when taking it out and putting it in that you do not "marr" the rails. The slide will not cycle smoothly if the rail has gouges in it. As for tightening the ejector fit, if it's pinned I don't know what else you would do short of locktite, new ejector, or a gunsmith to possibly spred the posts. [Continued...]
By korn1536 [Affiliate User] 1208964674 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveIf you now look at the ejector from the side, you can see a tiny "slot" in the bottom of it. This is just big enough for a tiny flathead screwdriver to fit. I'll gently tap down on the screwdriver w/ a hammer until the ejector pops up a little bit. It will come out in 1 piece, the ejector and 2 posts underneith it. The 2 posts only go in one way (they are different sizes & the front one has a groove that the pin goes into to). By korn1536 [Affiliate User] 1208963901 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveYes. And to make it clear to everyone else (since I have a habbit of mis-naming things sometimes)the EXTRACTOR is the hook that grasps onto the rim of the cartridge and the EJECTOR is the piece of metal on the frame that the case gets pushed back against. To take it out, there is a tiny pin on the inside of the rail. I use a tiny nail to push mine out. When it's pushed out so far, I gasp it with pliars on the other side to pull it out the rest of the way. [Continued on next post....]
