This is the last bit of Martin Luther Kings last speech "I have been on the mountaintop". He hold it on 3rd of April 1968 in Memphis. The next day he was shot. I like it very much, because I think it's very emotional. Maybe you like it too.
now we are in the promis land i may not like obam but my eyes have seen that this is what he wanted WE AS A COUNTRY ARE IN THE PROMIS LAND!!!!!!!

But even Andrew Jackson, who was clearly bigoted, his words of bigotry have been known to move and help the oppressed in many ways. MLK may have deep down been interested in helping gay rights, but was afraid of backlash. Jefferson did them same thing, I think, when he had his affair with a slave.

I agree with you, it's a pity that so much people already discriminate gay people. Some even behave like to be gay is a kind of illness. I have friends how are gay and they are very nice and get involved for lot of "political" things. They are very clever and you can talk with them for hours.
I must confese that at first it was a strage though for me to conect M.L.King and gay peolpe and their struggle for rights, but I think you are absolutly right. Thanks for this comments.
People who make such a fuss about gays rather than just accepting them and moving on are usually very insecure. Insecure about themselves, insecure about the issue of sex and sexuality, insecure about a lot of things. Of course, when you're the type that suppresses many carnal desires for 'conservative values', it's expected.

Their tradition is not to bash homosexuals and think lowly of them as 'sinners.' Their religions don't teach overly dogmatic crap about 'sin' and 'moral values' or 'family values.' They have true spirituality.

Even though they are legally being discriminated against, maybe not nearly the level blacks were, but still discriminated against nonetheless. A gay man/woman has no power of attorney if his lover falls into a coma, but a straight couple spouse does. A gay man/woman can't get benefits if he's in a relationship, from his employer or gov't.

Now, in 2008, there's a new civil rights movement for LBGT people, and once again, WE WILL GET TO THE PROMISED LAND! We will have gay marriage, gay rights and gay adoption! Discrimination against gay people will end in America, as is the tolerant tradition of this nation.
