TOP 10 :Combat Rifles - M16(No.2)

I used to have a 16 but im not really a fan of it urban warfare or say jungle (ambush tactics dirty environment) the ak 47 is the best bang for the buck period. And yeah the 16 is better at range but there are guns that are better for that anyway. This gun should be on the list but it shouldn't be number 2. PS cool name proeugenics.

The airforce was the first to use the weapon it was an Idle weapon for Security Forces gaurding the flightline. The fact that there is old footage of airforce pesonnel means it was probably a training video for Security Forces.

what im tryin to say is that you have never gone into combat (besides a bunch of guys shooting paint at each other) and youre allover this sight commenting on rifles you have never marched into battle with let alone shot. so the main thing im tryin to say is stfu.

The M-16 isn't full auto. The first version was, but the current model (M16A2) is not.

lol thats definately true.only if you rate a certain weapon can you suggest but obviously a weapon thats used by the unit.i heard alot of bad things about the aug but i must admit i have no experience with one.

ok, the i suppose your right about the magazine count since you were there...im just saying what i read in the publication

The M16 family will ultimatly be overhauled by HK, just like they did with the British L82...The M16, will become the HK416...its impossible to replace ALL of the US's weapons, the costs would be astronomical...not only do you have to replace the weapons themselves, you have to fire and then rebuild factories for the new weapons...FN relocated from Herstal Belgium to the US, just to build the M weapons for the US military...

as for whether the 16 is better than an m4? well the 16 is effective up 550 meters and with the acogs we had on em alot further. not to mention the barrel length gives an extra 200feet per second on the round. doesnt sound like much but the round relies heavily on kinetic energy so it makes a significant impact. but the m4 is way lighter and more manueverable. we were vying for the m4 cause of those facts not too mention we felt "special" if we carried one lol

shot, weapon and all. the 249's were a little problematic in the sand. 240's were great. the m16 worked flawlessly and nobody relied on m9 for anything. not because of reliability although it is a crappy pistol but because we had rifles and that was only reserved for the marines who actually got issued pistols which isnt many

umm i dont know about the publications but i was a marine infantry man in fallujah. and we carried way more than 6 mags 10 or more. and the insurgents were magicians at disapearing after getting
