Man, these arguements are hilarious! The fact of the matter is that people should get to decide their fate. In 1918 a vote was held in Transylvania, and the Romanian MAJORITY, who for centuries were treated as second-class citezens in their own land, voted to unite with Romania. End of story. Freedom and Democracy prevails. Whoooo Hoooooo!

ROMANIA IS THE MOST BEAUTYFUL COUNTRY IN THE WORLD. I would suggest the anti-romanians who wrote the stupid comments about transilvania belonging to some nomad-hun invaders who established their stupid contry near mine, to read more history. You hungarian assholes should read more about the DACIANS and the ROMANS, who hystorically formed the romanian people and lived in the actual TRANSILVANIA.

  • An another ...

An another explanation of the Dracula name could come from the fact that in 1431, Sigismund de Luxemburg invested Vlad the II'nd, Tepes' father, with the Dragon Order, a knightly order devoted to the wars against the Turkish's and the symbol was a dragon associated with the symbol of devil. Because of this emblem, it seems that Vlad Tepes got the name Vlad Dracul.

  • Anyway, certain is ...

Anyway, certain is that, because of his novel and of its screening, it was created an indestructible association between Dracula, Bran Castle and Transylvania.
In fact, the legend of the bloody count, over named Dracula, was associated with Vlad Tepes ruler only in XIX-XX centuries. This overlap of images are due to fact that the Romanian ruler was known as without mercy given of those who wasn't submit to him or violate the laws and the most used punishment was the pulling in stake.

From where comes the origins of Dracula legends?
He who created the fame of the Castle associated with Dracula, was Bram Stoker writer, which published in 1897, at London "Dracula, the vampire from Carpati". The book is considered a middling value by the critical of literature, but it had a strong influence to the public, from the moment when was been printing 6 edition since 1903.
