An another explanation of the Dracula name could come from the fact that in 1431, Sigismund de Luxemburg invested Vlad the II'nd, Tepes' father, with the Dragon Order, a knightly order devoted to the wars against the Turkish's and the symbol was a dragon associated with the symbol of devil. Because of this emblem, it seems that Vlad Tepes got the name Vlad Dracul.

Anyway, certain is that, because of his novel and of its screening, it was created an indestructible association between Dracula, Bran Castle and Transylvania.
In fact, the legend of the bloody count, over named Dracula, was associated with Vlad Tepes ruler only in XIX-XX centuries. This overlap of images are due to fact that the Romanian ruler was known as without mercy given of those who wasn't submit to him or violate the laws and the most used punishment was the pulling in stake.
