Dr. John Breeding, Ph.D. psychologist discusses what is termed obsessive compulsive disorder or OCD.
Dr. Breeding discusses potential psychological causes of an obsession or a compulsion as well as how to discharge negative emotion and love oneself.
Psychiatry often prescribes psychotic medications for obsessions and compulsions. Off label medication are often prescribed for this problem including mood stabilizers, antipsychotics, anxiety medications, antidepressants, etc.
Common OCD medications include Paxil, Prozac, Luxox, Zoloft, Lexapro as well as a number of SSRI antidepressants. Other medications often prescribed but not necessarily approved for OCD by the FDA include, Neurontin, Lamictal, Zyprexas and Risperdal. All of these medications have undesireable side effects and do not address the underlying cause of the psychological disorder. None of these drugs are actual cures.
Dr. Breeding discusses how to address obsessions and compulsions for a psychological model.

By steve1a5 [Affiliate User] 1203265866 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveAll the drugs and BS behind what sells prescription drugs has nothing to do with overcoming symptoms such as OCD. It's all about confronting your problems, confronting your fears, confronting your obsessions... and its not hard, trust me.
By xPibbzx [Affiliate User] 1199662736 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveI can tell you guys are still stuck within your obsessions. I was clinically diagnosed with OCD in 1999 and can say that I believe that I have been 'mostly' cleansed from it since 2005. Everything this guy says has extreme truths behind it. These terms are negative for the sole reason of raising sales for prescription drugs. It's all meant to scare people into buying drugs to try and fix some mental problem they may or may not have.
By xPibbzx [Affiliate User] 1199661973 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveI too have OCD and over the years with my struggle with such a condition it has some what evolved with every step I take towards full freedom of this condition. It no longer radiates itself into physical compulsions, but instead manifests itself into ones being and subconscious which can be extremely destructive. Through appreciation of this condition you can harness its' untold abilities which I am currently undergoing with success. I like to refer to this entity as my dark passenger.
By quila187 [Affiliate User] 1199477442 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveI was not born to obsess over the feeling of things still being on my hands, or over all of the disgusting things that may be on someone's hands or a dirty keyboard. I was not born to obsess over making mistakes on a paper or not including everything in my consideration of an issue. His suggestion here obviously shows his EQUIVOCATING OCD-type obsession with the typical wording. Ridiculous.

By psychetruth [Affiliate User] 1196072414 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveWalking around for hours or mowing the lawn sounds to me just like another kind of ritual.
Also, how do you know that after walking around outside for 2 hours to get 'unstuck' that you won't get 'stuck' in some other thought again an hour later.
and do u beleive in concious energy?
By freshoffsea [Affiliate User] 1193708331 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removeits like you know how you feel and scrape your knee on the floor and it bleeds and you touch the inner skin where the blood form and it hurts? thas how my brain feels, i dont know if chemicals in my brain imbalanced or not? but my thinking capabilities are also different from before, but dont mean to flood you with all these questions but im just pretty curious & woried about these conditions
By freshoffsea [Affiliate User] 1193708270 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removelike saying helo or goodbye in the store some would be quiet when i purchase someting and say goodbye because i understand they feel uncomfortable, i search for my inner spirit which i had before and try not to be so gounded and realistic with people because i know certain things i say can hurt people, is there anyway to fix that?
By freshoffsea [Affiliate User] 1193707980 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removethanks for the advice, but there are still times where i feel like im in my deep inner concious like people feel my presence with my deep inner concious, like im so up close and personal, and im exposed, and when i try to interact and conversat with new people.
By freshoffsea [Affiliate User] 1193707934 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveGo for a walk and look at things in the external environment until you attention extroverts. It may take HOURS before you attention "unsticks" but it will happen eventually if you just keep looking at things. Physical outside labor will help to, like mowing a lawn or gardening or cleaning your house. Exercise, eat right and good sleep help as well.
