Airbus originally projected it would break even on the A380 with its 270th delivery of the jet, but that break-even number has ballooned to 420 following the model's costly delay problems. AP says Airbus currently "has logged 189 orders or firm commitments for the plane."

By chenoir [Affiliate User] 1191847465 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveSo stupid to do it this way.
When Airbus made their first aircraft it was way better than any Boeing. And it always was so.
Big Jumbos are the future of civilian aeronautic, you can say it by only watching at international flights overbooking at the actual time. No need of the 787, but great need of more passenger per flight, and less pollution (the a380 is thinked this way)
thats ass! they still have fuckin tight cheap seat!! more money for the good seat!
By k5gixxer [Affiliate User] 1191736653 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveThe A380 program is more than 2 years late delivering it's 1st aircraft (to Singapore airlines), suffers from huge cost overruns, and will be a white elephant just like the Concorde. Boeing bet that super jumbos are not economically logical and stayed away from building one. They have decades more experience than Airbus; I would place my bets on Boeing's strategy. Airbus wants to sell A380s with a lot of fanfare/drama (like the Concorde) but will end up with an economic fiasco.

By whateverwillbewillbe [Affiliate User] 1190355698 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveHey Smoznizjev, remember the time you said that I don't like planes not made in U.S. Thats incorrect because I do like other companies. For example, SAAB, de Havilland, Bombardier, Canadair Challenger, and some others. By the way, im starting to like cathay 340s because one was the last plane out of Kai Tak (B-HXK). Another words, I'm not hating Airbus as much as I used to.
By buybygb [Affiliate User] 1189972720 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveThe A380 looks cool but I'm not willing to fly on it until it's been in the market for about a year. I LOVE the B747 tho. for some reason, when people think "jumbojet", they think 747 because of its unique design. I hope the A380 does well too, it look luxurious but fat lol.
My fav Airbus: A340
My fav Boeing: B747 and B777 (LOVE the engines)

By buybygb [Affiliate User] 1189780392 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveYes, I'm sure. Ground incidents happen on a daily basis. And just because you have 'seen' it happen to only one 777 doesn't mean it actually only happened to one.
By Smoznizjev [Affiliate User] 1189760818 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveYou shure? I've only seen one 777 have that happen (PS your additude really changed from the earlier responses).
By buybygb [Affiliate User] 1189717198 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveNo, the A380 is not 'too big'. The airports where it will operate are more than big enough for it. The only reason this accident happened was because the person doing the pushback didn't communicate well with his wingwalkers. This can literally happen with every plane, and does. I'd also like to see you back up your claim that other planes are 'in the 100s' before this happens. In fact, things like this are quite common for new types. It's just part of the learning curve.
By Smoznizjev [Affiliate User] 1189665022 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveYes I know, but boeing said that winglets provides extra lift which saves more fuel. Still, my point is that the 380 already had a collsion while other don't have that happen untill they are in the 100s.
