A reala mantis master and apparently skillfull communicator and nice person. his unti,ely passing is a great loss fro traditional kung fu.

He died from a stroke. He was a very close friend to my father, Sifu Henry Chung and my grandfather Master Ho-Yin Chung.

He truley was amazing, and I'm honored to have met known him.

it's entirely possible. chojun miyagi didnt live to a very old age for example either...which is why these days okinawan sensei who teach and practice sanchin warn against too much dynamic tension training. doing the form is ok, but only do it about 30 or 40% and only do it 100% every so often.

What was the cause of his death??

I miss him. I met him once through my teacher (who's his student). While I haven't had extended contact with him, his two students that I know are among the best martial artists I've come in contact with: humble, extremely skilled, strong, and blazingly fast...always learning.

Oh and, tazmanianbulldog, he had at least two schools: one in SF, and one he was starting in Brazil shortly before he died.

He obviously was a highly technical master. Looks like he ate, slept and dreamed the artform. Footwork and speed accurate. I would assume that he had many challenges in his day. And could hold his own. FOR ALL THE PEOPLE WHO THINK UFC IS THE STUFF, THINK AGAIN. THERES NOTHING KNEW UNDER THE SUN. Martial Arts obviously been around for 1,000's of years. And throughout its history i'm sure there's been a guy or two, who would laugh at the ufc.
