Building the OmniWing Paper Airplane takes only a few minute and with practice, it will fly right off the drawing board without any tuning at all.

For those who have folded the Proto-OmniWing, you will find this wing to be very similar except for the methodology in etablishing washout and twist. When properly constructed the OmniWing will have continuous spanwise twist set in each wing half creating and serving as up-elevator for the wing. Mastering this step of the construction will be crucial. Not only is it an important step to get right, but it is also the most challenging step as far as the demands on dexterity and skill to achieve the task.

It took me several years to refine this design. Be patient with your effort and do not get frustrated if you fail at first. You may struggle at first with the difficult step of creating and establishing the twist and washout. Do not get frustrated. Your reward for a properly designed OmniWing will be a stable wing with good speed and glide ratio.

    im not to sur myself on which one is best. as you said the omniwing flies a greater distance,i agree,however i think the paperang flies straighter. i say they are both evenly matched.

    Having built both, I have to give the OmniWing an edge for pursuit of distance. But then again, I probably build the OmniWing better than I can the Paperang. I am sure Dr. Hui can build the Paperang better than the OmniWing, and indeed he may get better performance out of the Paperang than the OmniWing. I can assure you that we have both built thousands of our respective wings over the past 4 decades.

    I have spoke with Dr. Hue, who conceived the Paperang. We lead parallel lives. He in Japan while I in Southern Cal, both stepping of mountainsides in the new sport of hang gliding in the early 1970's, and using paper airplanes to copy the hang glider designs. We both built very similar craft, but both go at the solution from different directions. I agree that the paperang is much more please aesthetically.
