fair the glass had already been compramised by the first shot , should have used a clean peace fo each test. bot still cool to watch large caliber weapons being shot

750 Grain A-MAX????? if U get that bad boy up to 2,700 U are risking damaging ur rifle cuz thats WAAAY over-pressure, the 750s normally run 2,400-2,550.....

khirlan....do some researh. any .50 caliber bullet is going to tavel AT LEAST 2700 fps! i manufacture ammunition for a living so i would know.

It depends on the ammo. There is 50BMG that goes a little over 3000fps.

How are you doing the calculations, are you also considering the ballistics(bullet slowing down while in-flight)?

My bad, I checked the wrong source. So with a speed of 2700 fps, the bullet will hit a target 1 mile away after 1.95 sec. The lap between the impact and the noise heard at one mile is 4.8 - 1.95 = 2.85 sec.

That's a little exaggerated... The M82's .50 Cal bullets travels at 1700 feet per second. If the target's at one mile (5280 feet), it will take approx. 3.1 seconds for the bullet to reach destination. The speed of sound (aka MACH 1) is 1100 feet per second. It will take 4.8 seconds for the noise to travel one mile so the difference between the bullet hitting the target and the noise of the explosion is only 1.7 seconds ! Not 2 minutes ! That's basic mathematics... Teached in junior high...

you forget that the .50 cal is a extremely advanced and powerful Anti-Armor rifle, it's designed to penetrate heavy armor with one shot, your bulletproof glass stands no chance against it, but that glass can stop anything less powerful. That first rifle will easily blow your head off from a mile away and no one near you will even hear the shot. You'll be dead and 2 minutes later they hear the thunder by that time the assassin is gone. That gun is the most powerful sniper rifle in the world

You can shoot through bullet proof glass with most weapons by shooting what's called a "fatal Triangle" where you shoot 3 rounds so if you connect the dots it makes a triangle and you can shoot through it. It is sweet to see that the 50 cal will go through with one shot. Just remember bullet proof glass buys you time it doesn't make you invinceable.

Anything after the 50cal isnt very accurate in the 'testing' area. When the glass is hit the first time it makes it weaker anyway. All in all it was cool.
