2008 Musikmesse Frankfurt, Germany. Pianist plays grand piano at Sauter booth. He plays Tchaikovksy Piano Concerto including orchestra part. Better than "Novecento" ocean-pianist :)
Well,it sounds as if it mite've been fun to be there but what a ghatsly noise around about. And whap a titty the opening was cut off.Obviously this pinist doesn't kno the real piano part,(solo in the middle)but seems to enjoy making it up as he goes along;i s'pose that's true cadenza spirit..?We're invited to"watch in high quality"but i'd be more interested to HEAR in hi-qual rather than SEE better the Man's ugly mug! What wd he make of Rach2,i wonder, and other SONGS?(sorry!can never resist it)

Are Sauter pianos any good? - it's hard to tell from the video with all the echo and background racket going on. Naturally you bring out the best in it!
(You see, I did find it)
Hi
to all interested, this is Paul Davis, an extraordinary pianist and musician. As a personal friend, I have been following him for years, with fantastic amounts of joy and amazement. What you see in the video is just a very small tip of the iceberg, and a minor one. There is much more and much better. I have numerous klips of him, in quite unique circumstances. When Paul plays, everybody stops what they are doing to listen, and that's what music is all about. When I get time u will see more!
You'd have to tell the other fifty pinsts all plonking at the same time to clear their damn pedal too. Seems to have bin plunk as a sort of joke anyway judging by the shrug at the end.

The Musikmesse's regular 'artiste' Paul Davis played everyday to an entourage of admirers. He apparently spends most of his time on Tier 1 concert grands. On two days that I was at the show he played piano arrangements of Gershwin "American in Paris", Rachmaninoff Piano Concerto No. 2, and Tchaikovsky Piano Concerto No. 1. Fantastic technique, thunderous power. Seems to enjoy the attention!
