This movie is by far my favorite. This movie is exactly what I think "Heaven" is like. I cry everytime I watch it, it moves me so.

Hello fans of "What dreams may come" I post occationally in response to u tube video's I enjoy. and I want to point out that this particular video has had such positive feed back and it makes me feel good coming here. It shows that in this world of haters, there are people like us who dare to "dream" what if?and attempt to do the "next best thing"

You qoute is well taken, however, The entire story line has been changed. That is why I like the movie, I decided to look at it as an entirley different entity. His children do not die in the book. that changes alot for the movie as you well know, since his children play such an important role on "The other side" I did enjoy the beauty and art of the flick, I believe it was nominated for an academy award in art direction or somthing. I do know it didn't win, but it should have.

I own at least one of his books and while they're good making his words come to life on the big screen is art.

read the book then say its a good flawless movie... lets face it, its based on the book, but the movie took too much poetic liscense. I perfer the book by millions of miles!

What dreams may come was actually taken from a book of the same name. Richard Matheson has a huge fan base and the books are considered Mcaube(spell check)aka Horror.. he also wrote "Bid time return" later called "Somwhere in time" the movie. People wanted him to write more books that were romantic, but he had a flair and passion for the Macaube. once again (sp check)

Almost forgot to post that I used to imagine my self in paintings as a child and related that to the book, but the movie did a magificent job showing him actually in his wifes painting. (I have only seen the movie once when it came out in the late 90's)

I liked the movie if I seperated it from the book by Richard Matheson. The book was Extrodinary. and although I consider the movie not the same story at all. the liberty they did take with killing his children (unlike the book) I love the scene at the moment he realizes his daughter is the beautiful Asian woman. "Do you still play chess" because of that scene I had to like the movie (Read the book!)

slvmex34, i believe the director did. i read that somewhere.. he bases some of the places on places in the inferno and etc.

this was a great movie.

I have seen the movie and, well... Amazing. That's the word I'd choose to describe it. I am not vocabulary worthy to describe or interpretate it either. But I really liked it.

A mans gotta be in his own heaven to be happy, isn't that a saying? :)
