yeah he did have business going to the back of the house hes the 1st personen on the scene doing a 360 degree view of the buiding scene assesment those lights were his personal veichle

obv there was apparatus there b/c of the flashing light reflection in the windows, he had no business even being in the drive way of that house, what if the house flashed over just as he went to turn around, ppl need to think, this is how ppl get hurt

gotta be honest.... I've done scene assessment in my paramedic jumpsuit before. Curiosity just got the best of me especially since I was still a blue tip. This is back when we didnt carry bunker gear and SCBA's on our ALS. We started staffing our med units with full gear about a year ago. Thank god Im on an Engine now!

Wow, I wonder if all these comments were left firefighters. 2in 2out rule, house flash, blocking the pull line. These are the phrases. But a firefighter who cares about their job would remember that they need to have their gear. Even to assess the scene. If something happens them, what good are they going to be to victims or the battle against the fire?

That flash could be 600 or 1200 degrees. 800 is enough to burn skin in an instant, and it would have blinded him, and maybe even set his clothes alight.

Always wear your gear when you get off the rig or car. But we're all guilty of the same thing at one time or another.

you cant see a huge orange glow at the left back of the house and fire flicking up over the roof randomly?....it looks to me like the back patio is fully involved...haha...are you serious you cant see that?

look at the orange glow and the visible fire in the back and the small fire seen on the roof...the fire has self vented. this isn't backdraft and its too violent for a flashover...looks like something exploded in the back. if it backdrafted or flashed over the house would be fully involved after the fact

That's NOT a cop. If it were he'd be wearing his weapon and cuffs and so on. Also, if you look on his right shoulder, there is a Texas EMT (and or Paramedic) patch.
