1973 Competitive Drum Corps

This is the video that started me on my love affair with Drum Corps. I remember seeing this show in Sacramento that summer, and those buses, the equipment truck. Man, things have come a long way since then!

Thanks for that post......just thanks, my father and I actually had that film on 35mm we used to watch it all through that winter between seasons,damn, I really miss those times

There is another movie/documentary of the 27th Lancers done in 1975...I remember watching on the local PBS station in Allentown when I was in high school in Bethlehem. It went behind the scences of them learning "CROWN IMPERIAL MARCH" with the goose step and all of the tricks of 27th!!

This is a super video. I've been using it to "educate" younger (under 60) fans of drum and BUGLE corps. Sure wish there were videos w/sound of the 60's and 70's. Who wouldn't love to see DVDs of Prince, Carver, (Fitchburg) Kingsmen, SAC, Kevin's, Marksmen?
They'd seem archaic by today's standards, I'm sure. But. still...

My how things have changed. Even in a short period of time really. This was 35 years ago but even 7 years ago when I marched. I guess that's true to a point though...some things are exactly the same.
