He studied the rules of recitation under the Respected Sheikh IBrahim As-Su'oodi at a young age.He is especially admired for the immense spirituality of his recitation. He had a smooth style which could move the listener to tears.He is also one of the only reciters who was admitted to the radio without testing. That is, the radio requested that he read for them without having to undergo the usual vigorous exams that reciters must undertake in order to be ordained as an official reciter; such was the high esteem at which he was held by his peers.Sheikh Muhammad Siddiq El-Minshawi has become a househould name across the Muslim world, and he travelled to many countries outside of his homeland. These to name but a few include, United States of America, Algeria, Indonesia, Iran, Jordan, Kuwait, Libya, Pakistan, Palestine (Al-Aqsa Mosque), Saudi Arabia and Syria.::::محمد صديق المنشاوي (الصوت الخاشع والقلب الضارع) (1920 - 1969) أحد قرَّاء القرآن الكريم الأوائل الذين أقاموا مدارس التجويد من مصر. ولد محمد صديق المنشاوي بقرية المنشاة التابعة لمحافظة سوهاج في جمهورية مصر العربية، وأتم حفظ القرآن الكريم وهو في الثامنة من عمره حيث نشأ في أسرة قرآنية عريقة فأبوه الشيخ صديق المنشاوي وشقيقه الشيخ محمود صديق المنشاوي علمان من أعلام دولة التلاوة.

ذاع صيته ولقي قبولاً حسنا لعذوبة صوته وجماله وانفراده بذلك، إضافة إلى إتقانه لمقامات القراءة، وانفعاله العميق بالمعاني والألفاظ القرآنية، وللشيخ المنشاوي تسجيل كامل للقرآن الكريم مرتلا، وله أيضا العديد من التسجيلات في المسجد الأقصى و الكويت و سوريا و ليبيا، كما سجل ختمة قرآنية مجودة بالإذاعة، وله كذلك قراءة مشتركة برواية الدوري مع القارئين كامل البهتيمي وفؤاد العروسي.

تزوج مرتين أنجب من زوجته الأولى أربعة أولاد وبنتين، ومن الثانية خمسة أولاد وأربع بنات، وقد توفيت زوجته الثانية وهي تؤدي مناسك الحج قبل وفاته بعام. وفي عام 1966 أصيب بمرض دوالي المريء ورغم مرضه ظل يقرأ القرآن حتى توفى - رحمة الله عليه - في يوم الجمعة 5 ربيع الثاني 1389 هـ، الموافق 20 حزيران/يونيو 1969م.أهل القرآن أهل الله ...
