The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (1974) - Trailer

When I was a kid about eight or nine years after the movie first came out, these kids in my school played a prank on me. I was too scared to see the movie, so they lied and made it seem way more sick than the actual movie was. They said there was a scene with a nude girl tied to the ceiling, and the chainsaw killer cuts from her P***y all the way up through her skull and face. Of course, it made me want to talk about the movie - constantly. This film had top notch PR people on the job.

isnt this movie a true story?

no ive met people who said when they saw this in theatres it was like watching actual crimes right in front of you this one seems more real

Yes and I'm sure I've seen two different cuts! The one that I saw Leatherface kills him from one side of the truck and in the other cut he did seem to just disappear off screen!

ok, question: am i the only one who wonders where the black guy who drove the truck and threw the wrench at leatherface went? he just runs off screen. i know its a movie, but i always wonder

ya know dude sometimes movies i seen do that like the trailer would have jason for example swimg his machete and stop it half way through and someone would throw a dinamite or sometin idk

the only part that was true was the part where he put skin on his face...that idea was taken from ed gein who make things from ppls skins...he also hung corpses on hooks in his home...the rest is fiction and they admitted that

who knows everybody will always be debating it i wish everyone would stop and just enjoy the movie it doesnt matter what the true story is actually from what i know tobe hooper originally made the movie because he was standing in line at a store ad looked at some chainsaws and wondered if he fired one up the people would leave so he could home it was after the movie was made he found about ed gein so the movie was never made because of ed gein it was because of chainsaw in the store thing

they wanted to get the idea from ed gein but they said in a documentary that the Texas chainsaw massacre was not a true story.

yes they were what was know as the real texas chainsaw massacre family, but there was no giant guy who wore other people faces, that hollywood just threw in there

was this a true story of a family in texas or is it a movie kinda about like Ed Gein
