Steelers had the 'old school football' mental-
ity of knockin' ya on yer ass, while Dallas
had the hollywood glitz and pander to the media mentality.

  • The Steelers played ...

The Steelers played Dallas five times from Jan '76 to Sept. '82.
The first 4 times with Staubach and the last 4times with Dorsett and all 5 times with Doomsday and Landry.
Twice in the SB and three times in the reg. season.
All the games were agasint Noll, Bradshaw, Franco, Swann, Stallworth and the Steel Curtain.
Dallas was 0-5 and the Steeelrs were 5-0
Dallas can cry me a F**king river, they never beat the Steelers when bot teams were in their prime.

  • I totally agree ...

I totally agree with you. Landry did the same S**t in that 1st champioship against Green Bay in '67. Herb Aderly said that they never could stop Don Perkins & didn't understand why they stopped giving him the ball. Tom's name should be on that Super Bowl trophy, not Lombardi's. But he lost a lot of Champioship games over-coaching.

  • About this game, ...

About this game, Jim Brown observed that they didn't give the ball to Dorsett enough, otherwise they would have won.

You can hear Myron Cope at the very beginning--NBC had him on leading up to the game--why, we'll never know.

  • Yep, and the game ...

Yep, and the game wasn't even that close, The Cowboys K, Efram Herrera missed 3, 1st half FG's and Ed "Too Tall" Jones dropped, what would've been a coast to coats INT, when Craig Morton threw it right into his hands.

Craig Morton would complete as many passes to The Cowboys (4) as he did his own team LOL!
Randy White and Harvey Martin are still the only CO/MVP's in Super Bowl history.

Super Bowl XIII is the last Super Bowl the, great, Curt Gowdy would ever announce. One of the best ever
