I'm Jonathan L. Segal, the songwriter, singer and pianist for "Illusions", the song in the film. Since the film was posted here, I've received some really nice emails. Thanks! As far as the negative comments, I certainly hope I wouldn't have ripped off Steely Dan (great band, though!) I just happen to like fun funky grooves. Regarding my vocals being "cheesy", that was a dairy nice comment.

I remember this I've been wanting to see this. I was watching the intro and my kids thought it was cool. I told them about how it was made and even mentioned the making of special HBO ran. This is so cool! Thank you for posting this. I'm going to show it to them this weekend.

I remember this open from when I was little (about 1992 at the latest, but probably earlier). It didn't say "HBO Theater" but "Feature Presentation" (I think...) instead though...

I love the way they combined the handcrafted and computer technology. Those spinning LED's to create that circular light effect was ingenious as hell.
