  • the reason why we, ...

the reason why we, as the viewers, might not find certain parts of the narration as funny as Napolean and/or Frank do, is because they are exchanging "inside" jokes about specific parts of the incident at the hotel. Only they know what they are talking about.

The "gorilla suit" was worn by Chester during Florentine Pogen, by the way. It smelled like a wet dog, I assume.

  • if i'm not mistaken ...

if i'm not mistaken, they are improvising on a real incident that happened to them with one of the hotels they were at. i think i remember reading this in the real frank zappa book. Whatever the incident was, it involved one or more of the band members having a conflict with the hotel staff.

    i am rabid Zappa.
i advocate breaking into The Vault with due Force, holding Gail hostage, and liberating the Roxy films.
16mm, superb audio, FZ mix, the Rosetta Stone of Zappa Perfection... a Film copy of the Roxy show.
and totally... no "garnee du jour" whatsoever. no wrinkled carrot, no twisted celery no sog, no saran, no plastic.
    we understand Frank.
    we want Frank.

At one point he is reciting it:
"A green hocker in the greyhound locker, smoking in the pygmy twilight". :)

  • One of the best ...

One of the best touring bands Frank recruited. I had the opportunity to see this lineup about 1974. This sounds like the dialogue they used in between the song "Pygmy Twilight" from the Roxy and Elsewhwere live record.

    This is just classic.

One time, Frank was asked by someone (a host of some show) how they should introduce him, and he said, "National treasure." God I miss him.
