The monks have no reason to train for fighting since they don't compete and they never have to use it. Furthermore, they don't fight in training at all.

And all I said about the monks is they don't train to fight. They don't fight and so can't fight. i agree. originally kung fu was meant for the shaolin monks to defend them selves from thieves. however nowadays they are showing there skills they have learnt throughout time so that skill can be remembered than forgotten

Obviously I did see it since I described said "spear". It was NOT pointy. It was NOT sharp. It was a piece of metal that could have been a decoration in someone's house. You call that a spear? It was about half an inch thick AT THE END and the tip was VERY rounded.

Those other "spears" were dull as hell too. LOOK AT THE THICKNESS OF THE BLADE. If you were to make a weapon that you wanted to be lethal and sharp, would you make on that thick? Even big-ass swords are a lot thinner.
