Very good fighting demostration. Of course, the Taichi CHUAN can not be demostrated in real combat because the body remanents and blood on the floor should be removed and cleaned after the combats. I loves Taichi CHUAN! Is my favorite martial art: Silk and Iron, yin and yang, opposites but equals!

  • There is no ...

There is no difference. The only thing that differientiates street from ring fighting is the fact that in the ring, you're not looking to actually kill one another. The same style can be used for both

Probably dude, if you know what your doing you could take any street drunk or loudmouth punk down easy, which is the main application for street fighting. Whereas in a ring you're also fighting against someone who knows what they are doing.

I've done both, and trust me. If you're good at what you do, you'll actually be more sore after a ring fight.

  • Well, that is how ...

Well, that is how most training for martial arts is. You are trained for certain counters, but the usefulness is not always possible. Of course, MMA fighters learn mostly jujutsu and muay thai. For most grappling martial arts, unpredictability and practice comes hand in hand. As for someone in the streets, Although you can't expect anything from them, they are not expecting your abilities either, and your physique.

  • what stats? how ...

what stats? how effectful a martial art is is not decided by the martial art itself but by the practitioner of that martial art. for example, master wong would have no problem fighting someone in the street cause he mastered so many martial arts one of them being wing chun which has been proven to be one of the most effective martial arts in the world but still a person who S**k at it will not do well in a real fight.

  • Actually I fight ...

Actually I fight and you do get injured on occasion. It's not battlefield fighting, it's sport fighting. And it's more realistic than you have ever fought in apparently.

  • And your name "Vale ...

And your name "Vale Tudo" remind of what another real bs is. People fighting with NO RULES in the BATTLE FIELD (modern or ancient) usually got killed/seriously injured. But today some sort of so-called "no rule" fights where people like to watch comfortably at home thru TV rarely have people seriously injured. Are these so-called "no rule" the real BS? I don't know.

  • "pure bs". Then ...

"pure bs". Then you're purely ignorant. And your statement "demonstration at full speed against someone who doesn't train with.." is the real bs. Doing a striking art with someone have the intention to strike back isn't a DEMONSTRATION. It is a real fight. Check your logic please, Mr Computer Engineer with a Master of Science.

  • Yes, a non ...

Yes, a non compliant or predictable opponent is required I heard of that statement b4 too and way TOO MUCH. But, a big question, how is DEMONSTRATION not done with predictable and compliant people for a striking art? Is it really possible to have 2 men fighting and none of them get hurt at the end?

  • its law of momentum ...

its law of momentum conservation and that is besides the point. it's not realistic. all these demos are always done with predictable compliant people. someone in the street or in a mma fight is not compliant or predictable. "Tai Chi is one of the deadliest martial arts known to man" - yah yah yah, heard it all before. Gun fu is the deadliest martial art known to man. I have stats to back it up. Where's yours?

  • If you actually ...

If you actually learned physics, then you will know about the conservation of momentum. Tai Chi works on this principle. Tai Chi's deadliness is in locking down the opponent by manipulating the force of the opponent, therefore leaving an opponent open to attack. Most Tai Chi instructors do not teach the martial aspect until the pupil has mastered the basic stances. But combative Tai Chi is probably one of the deadliest forms of martial arts known to man.
