On a more relevant note, I am glad the Pakistani Government has finally decided to disabuse itself from the idea that the Taliban are a reaction to the larger global imperialist agenda. In fact, they have quite proactively and systematically destroyed the writ of the state in what is now an increasingly intractable situation. The sad truth however remains that the human cost of this will be significant, but the establishment has only itself and it's ill advised foreign policies to blame.

When American Forces came into Pakistan, the Taliban and the Pakistan army joined forces and killed up to US Soldiers.
