    the Aiptek seems to be the best choice, and best bang for the buck.

    Agreed. I actually bought an Aiptek A-HD off of Amazon, your reviews were really helpful and Vimeo videos convinced me of the quality, and I will compensate for the sound by recording the sound on a Zoom H2 and will synchronize audio and video in post. I've ordered both from the US and they're currently stuck in Canadian customs at the moment, hoping it won't take so long to get it cleared and I'm hoping they won't slap some kind of fee on it!

    As usually an excellent review of the Camcorder.
    But I agree the audio seems poor.
    The Aiptek Action HD has a more sensitive mic, but outdoors the audio is better.

    Good quality in video, but bad quality in audio. I don't know if Aiptek has anything to do with the Digilife Camera, regarding the hardware similarities. But, I would buy the Aiptek AHD, if the price goes to $99 dollars. That's what cost me the MPVR+ model.
