Hayley Westenra - O Mio Babbino Caro

Interesting and unique redition of this song. The way that Hayley leaps straight to the high notes reminds me of the Bell Song from Lakmé. It would be interesting to see her try this. I think it would suit her voice. Hayley somehow reminds me of the soprano Lily Pons in style.

I have a collection of 24 different sopranos singing my favourite aria before hearing Hayley. This is the best rendition I have had the pleasure of hearing.

The Dallas Symphony Orchestra did a "Lord of the Rings" night, where they played the film trilogy's entire score. Westenra was there and did the soprano vocals for all the Elvish lines in the music. She was phenomonal.

Hayley is 20 she was born 10 April 1987 in Christchurch New Zealand. She has a beautiful pure voice and is so humble.
