The Tohono O'odham and Pima Indians of southern Arizona have perhaps the highest rate of diabetes in the world. Yet the disease was virtually unknown here 100 years ago.     1:42 (He says we still are)unable to grow crops..hmm.. thats bull im sorry but the farms is growing crops because the have learned how to maintain and use the water wisely. In fact the farms is still expanding. I think the reservation can pull itself out of poverty if only the community is willing to. It doesn't make things much easier when most of the people who live on the reservation spend there food stamps on beer. And yes I do live on this reservation so i know how things are.
