  • elisqpr86:contnuing ...

elisqpr86:contnuing the other message, if these drivers feared that they would die from racing, they would not do it. Moreover, we should also not get caught too much on these deaths, we should move on...ex. Virginia Tech, Ayrton Senna...I mean, what is the difference if you die in a car accident with you body cut in a million pieces or you die in your sleep...it's all tragic, all horrific. What we should be concerned with is trying to prevent these deaths through better measures.

  • Who the hell cares ...

Who the hell cares what your uncle has seen ellisqpr86? This is racing, not someone caught in a fire or some traffic accident. This was indeed a terrible accident. But one should not get caught up on how it looks to die or have some huge crash. Things like this happen...it's racing. I don't wish this on anyone, it's sad. Greg Moore was a great driver, from Canada just like Villeneuve. Moreoever, it's a job...being a race car driver or a firefighter. There are always risks...next message

  • Well, given the ...

Well, given the fact that an open-wheeled car is more fragile than a stock car or the cars you and I would drive, this is as bad as a two-car accident occuring at 70 MPH. It's not the speed that kills you, ironically, it's the G-forces that can injure, if not, kill you.

sad, He should not have been driving that car considering the previous days injury to his hand. I think they should refrain from announcing a drivers death until after the race is finished

  • Your right Paul ...

Your right Paul Page is very professional, and called many a Indycar race. He knew.
    ABC/ESPN should bring him back.

As for Greg, man who knows- Maybe a 2 time Indy 500 champ? possible world series champ? He seriously was cut down before his prime.

  • It's popular 'cause ...

It's popular 'cause money and the egos of the people in charge of open wheel at the time couldn't sort their crap out.

Go ahead and let NASCAR grow. . . it'll be full of foreign drivers (which it has quite a few already), cars (Toyota) and tracks (Mexico in the Grand National Series) . Like open wheel was at the time of the split.
Then the core American audience won't watch anymore. Seems to me, NASCAR is heading down the same road.
