I understand money is needed but we dont need more money in it. I go to a public school, and my motivation is NOT my teachers, I want to do well in life, and i've heard the best way or surviving as an adult is working hard in school. If that isnt enough motivation what is? Teachers make a decent amount, they have 3 months vacation, and health insurance. It could be a lot worse.

I built my new home myself.First thing I bought was a used backhoe then sold it for what I paid for it after the escavation was done.I did every phase of it , plumb,frame, electrical etc. The only thing I needed help with was setting the 10 in. steel eye beam. Took a year. after work ( factory ) and on weekends. My better half worked her fingers to the bone also.All this while raising 2 kids ages 12 and 3. Get off your asses lazy people and grab the pick and shovel like our grandparents did.

Money is needed for education. Teachers are running away because of their not-so-impressive salaries! We need to be able to provide computers, updated textbooks...etc How can you be motivated to study if you're not given proper materials? The only reason I slacked off in school was cause my teachers were all lazy, unqualified, and the work they gave was useless. With the few decent teachers I had, I worked my butt off. Plus ii order to create awareness in kids slacking, you need money.

I went to a public high school and we were in desperate need of money. The qualifications needed for becoming a teacher is extremely low because the average salary is not impressive. More money isnt needed for education. Kids just need to learn to study! I'm in High School right now and the reason education isnt at its greatest is because students arent willing to learn. Money isnt going to solve that problem, only a change in character will. Money will just spoil students into working less hard then lots already are. However, job training can be helpful for students uninterested in college. This would be more useful than spending on classes unrelated to a future career.

hey liberalssuk08, the problem with you republicans is you have to lie to make a point. If you listened to what Obama said it was not what you are trying to say at all. He said he believes in investing in education and job training and that is what is ultimately going to help these communities not a check.
