  • Thanks for helping ...

Thanks for helping me out! I can't always reply immediately.

    To "ravyboom":
The expression needs FOR. You can MISTAKE (somebody) FOR (someone else). I think we usually say this in the simple past, not the present perfect, though. I'd say:

    1) I'm sorry. I mistook you for someone else.
    2) Sorry. I thought you were someone else.

  • Hi Jennifer, I ...

    Hi Jennifer,
I like your English lessons videos. It helps me a lot. Since English is my second language, my English is not so good. I am learning it. Plz tell me whether the answer of the following question is correct or not.

Ques: Do you prefer to drink tea or coffee?
Ans: I prefer to drink tea than coffee.
Ans: I prefer drink tea to coffee.
Because you said "than" is only used to answer would rather type of questions. Plz, reply of this comment.

I wanted you to understand some common uses of the simple present tense:

    1. I am a teacher.
    2. I like learning about other cultures.
    3. I eat lots of sweets.
    4. I know I'm not perfect, but I think in general I provide a good speech model, and I try my best to share my own understanding of the English language.

  • Do you mean set ...

Do you mean set phrases that use TO BE and TO HAVE in general? Or do you mean within a more specific context? Maybe if you give me examples that create confusion, I can address those to start with.
