yea they dont know cuz the few people that are firemen actually have the courage that everyone else doesnt have and its like dont come crying my name when you are trapped in a fire cuz im just gonna say hey remember when you were making fun of me now look at your situation then help them and say see what you get for making fun of something that you know nothing about because its more then just puttin water on the red stuff

hey its the same with me...people always laughing when i have my pager and calling me firehouse..they have no idea

everytime i watch this movie i cry because i just think about things like that really happening. EVERYBODY GOES HOME

i know im not a firefighter but i am a cadet at the local fire department on the south side of Chicago and will be going to the academy within the next year but this movie brings tears to my eyes everytime i watch it, but i hate it when people make fun of me because i have a pager and a voice pager then ask me what its for and i tell them FD they just say...oh...and walk away and dont say anything else but its like thats something ive wanted to do for my whole life and to me its just a job

I am a metro Atlanta Fire/Medic, after the Ladder 49 movie this song became much more poplar. But, it was a wonderful song prior to the movie. Since, it has another altogether meaning now much more powerful.

Im going into Search and Rescue and i could care less if someone thinks im a Hero, its about saving people and giving them another chance in life. That feeling of saving ones life is a feeling i can't even explain. People look at us like were HEROES but were just there to help.

Wonderful song! Beautiful! God bless all fire fighters that risk their lives to save others because they know it's the right thing!

brilliant film and song

Just my thoughts... Its not about the lights and sirens, its not about being a hero, its about doing what you think is right. I am a EMT in the Houston area. I could give a crap if someone tells me thank you. I get the feeling when I leave work everyday knowing that I did something good for someone today. That I let a little girl spend another day with her dad. That I gave a drunk driver another chance. If you do it so people will see you as a hero, get lost!
