Pythagoras hoped to find enlightmend through the perfect sound, and had he lived to day he most certain would have found it in this song... I am facinated, thrilled, and moved in any way posible... This is giving me hope of an afterlife, cause this song is without question of divine inspiration... I LOVE IT.. and i am not even hindu, and dont understand hindu but still, what a voice what a sound...

I guess the Emperor is esp. pissed cos she proclaims that love is immortal and cannot be quashed by "brutal" forces. If nothing is hidden from Allah, then why should anything (read, love) be hidden from mortals.. basically challenging the kings authority that she will continue to love his son the prince.

More specifically - The Prince is in love with the chick (and yes he has hit that). The king is against it cause she's just a servant, one of the Queens' maids. The king has made a deal with her to stop seeing his son in exchange for money or else her family would suffer. She tells the prince to F off (still loving him), he calls her a whore and now she's dancing saying "all i've done is fall in love. i'm not afraid anymore - once you have love what's there to be afraid of?" etc. etc. etc.

Aren't you aware that there are more of us viewing and responding to this clip than geographicaly Asian people? I am white, American, and I am still indelibly linked to my original (primarily British)culture. What makes the US different is that we value, and some like me even pursue, the cultures of our fellow citizens as though it were our own. Which, based on the Kargil-esque tone of these comments, seems to escape the grasp of our neighbors to the East.
