Harry O is an American crime drama television series that aired for two seasons on ABC from 1974 to 1976. The series starred David Janssen as Harry Orwell, a San Diego cop forced into retirement when he is shot in the back. He sets up a private investigation practice in San Diego. The premere episode of Gertrude followed the broadcast of two pilot films: Such Dust as Dreams Are Made On (1973) and Smile Jenny, You're Dead (1974), both starring Janssen.

    He was a great actor. I do like The Fugitive from the sixties. BTW this episode aired on September 12th, 1974 which was the premeire episode of the series.

    Thanks...I'm hoping that someone will post the season one episode "elegy for a cop", which shows the death of Henry Darrow's character...or if someone can make it available for download like the Gertrude episode.

    Thanks for posting this - now both Harry O theme songs are on YouTube! I heard that the one from Season 1 (this one, Janssen-Darrow) was once on YouTube, but was pulled.

    As you might already know, the one from Season 2 (Janssen-Zerbe) is already on YouTube and, judging from the names of the guest stars, the episode is 'Past Imperfect.'
