Roomer is that the thin Harbor Fright arc welding electrodes are more like a 4th-of-July sparkler than a welding rod. So I bough 2 lbs of them for $5.99 on my last visit to Harbor Fright. The box recommends 20-40 amps, but they sure don't lay down enough metal at low amps, so I ran them at 60 amps on a old Miller AC Thunderbolt buzz box. The appearance of the weld is fairly good, the slag is easy to chip. They like to be pushed into the metal further than other electrodes I have tried. You ...
