    Yes, although it can be a bit of a misnomer. First of all, euphoniums and baritones are actually tenor instruments. The true 'baritone' has a narrower bore, especially the last couple of feet before the bell. And its tonal color is brighter and harder than the euphonium, which has a more French horn-like timbre.

    Mouthpieces are fairly interchangeable. Euphonium players tend to like different types than trombonists, though. Trombone mouthpieces also do not come in "medium" shank versions -- just tenor or bass shank.
